Botox Injections   Botox injections
BOTOX

Troy has injections at this point every three months. All injections have been in the back of his thighs (picture to left). We will be looking at different areas as we see fit along with the guidance of our physiotherapist.

We travel to London, Ontario to the hospital to have this done.

There is lots of information out there on Botox if you have any questions please contact the place who would be administering the injections.
A rear facing walker. Troy tried this walker. It is one he would have behind him while he was walking. We found he got stuck on to many objects in the house that caused frustration too many times. We opted for an alternate choice.
"Gators"-You will see the red material hiding underneath little splints to keep Troy's leg completely straight when we are doing stretches. In this picture during a physio apt. he had his AFO's (braces) on underneath enabling him to stand by himself for a very short period.

We are constantly making things for Troy to sit and do. This is just a piece of wood with holes drilled in 3/4 of the way and doweling cut the same length to stick in.

railing up the stairs  railing down the hall The top picture shows Troy getting up the stairs to the bedroom. It resembles a ladder and gives his hands more to grasp on. He loves it but also likes to use the regular hand rail on the opposite wall.

The bottom picture is the hand rail we took from the wall going down to our basement and placed it down the hall on our main floor. Most kids like to walk and hang on to walls. Since Troy did not have the stability to do that we put the railing down so he could cruise down like his twin brother Scott.
getting casted for AFO's
Troy is having his leg casted in the top picture by an Orthpedic Specialist who holds clinics we attend at Kids Ability.

The second picture shows a picture of AFO's that were made for Troys legs. We were given the choice of what would be on his braces along with the colour. Troy's braces do not have any flexibility at this ankles where some AFO's do.

These are pictures of knee pads I made for Troy. Troy does not always want to use his walker of course if he wants to play on the ground leaving us to figure out how to protect his knees while he is playing on the sidewalk or rough services. I made them myself. If you have any questions about these please email me.
One of walkers Troy triedfrontwalker These are two different walkers that Troy Tried.

We tried many different ones and the one he has now was a brand new model. Most walkers he tried would not allow him to back up which posed a big problem if he found hiself against the wall. He had no where to go.

The one he has now allows for him to back up and is very mobile.
troy owns this walker This blue walker is the one Troy has now.
Although walkers can look very similar they can all work so differently.
