Our trip down to Key Largo, Florida.

Troy had a five-day Therapy program that involved swimming with Sara the dolphin as well as fun activities in the classroom.

Troy working with the bears in the classroom session
This was a colour activity in the classroom. Troy had to place coloured bears on the right coloured bears on the paper.

When we got there they asked us what we would like to be worked on if anything and I suggested colours.
Troy painting a wooden dolphin in the classroom session
Again another classroom activity this time painting a wooden dolphin. The children have choice on what they would like to colour; turtle and dolphin. Of course Troy picked the dolphin.

Other activities included painting and stamping a pillow case and t-shirt. At the last classroom session Troy got to glue pictures of our trip in a trip scrapbook.
One of the many kisses Troy received
This pictures says it all. Troy kissing "Sara" the dolphin. I had over a 100 pictures to chose from and this one just says everything. Troy had an amazing week with his new friends in the water and of course his instructor Gretchen and even his friend that fed Sara her fish treats.

Sara and Troy did many activities in the water. Dancing, singing, playing with a big yellow rubber duck, Sara gave Troy sea-weed for a gift, jumping over poles, to Troy hanging on to her dorso fin and pulling Troy along in the water.
Troy holding the pole for Sara to jump over
Troy got to hold the pole in this picture. He had a permanent smile the whole time.
I can't describe how overwhelming it is as a parent to watch your child experience what Troy did. I wish all children who are experiencing hard times in their life whether it be disabilities or behavioral could have the opportunity to go to Island Dolphin Care.
